Path: PressAI → Settings → AI Connections. Providers: OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, Anthropic and DeepSeek.

Configure

  1. Enter the provider API key. Leaving the field blank preserves an already stored key.
  2. Set the Default model.
  3. Set Global provider order from priority 1 to 5. Unconfigured providers are skipped.
  4. Set AI request timeout between 15 and 180 seconds per attempt.
  5. Save AI settings.

Fields

Field / actionMeaning
API keyCustomer-owned BYOK secret, stored encrypted locally.
Clear saved keyDeletes the stored provider secret on save.
Default modelDefault model sent to the provider.
Global provider orderFailover order.
AI request timeoutSeconds per provider attempt.

Connect an AI provider

  1. Open PressAI → Settings → AI Connections.
  2. Enable the provider you want to use.
  3. Enter the provider API key from your own account.
  4. Choose the model and provider priority.
  5. Save the settings and run the connection test.
  6. Repeat for fallback providers if needed.
